What's New in The Living Jazz Tradition...

We are beyond excited to announce the release of Steve Treseler's book The Living Jazz Tradition.

I can't even begin to express how hard Steve and several folks at CMA have worked to make this a reality. It's been over five years in the making and I think we have one of the best jazz improvisation books ever written. It's 250 pages of insightful and essential steps to learning to improvise creatively.

I'm thrilled to announce the national release of my book The Living Jazz Tradition: A Creative Guide to Improvisation and Harmony on CMA Press. This has been a labor of love over the past eight years and it's hard to believe the book is finally here!

CMA Press at 2014 WMEA Conference

CMA Press had an opportunity to visit the WMEA Conference in Yakima, WA this past February. Steve Treseler, the author of The Living Jazz Tradition gave three workshops to middle school, high school and college educators on successful strategies for jazz improvisation.

We also had a booth available with pre-release copies of the text, as well as showings of our Piano Explorer Level method books authored by Michael Stegner.  These methods are soon to be released for individual and group piano classes.
